Rates & Project WorkFlow
I charge either by the hour or by the project. The method depends on the project size, scope, turnaround time / rush requests, etc.
See examples & details below.
Economic justice is important to me. If you have financial constraints or concerns about your budget, please be in contact with me and we can discuss available options.
Please keep in mind that when you hire me, you are hiring an individual, not a corporation.
My rates allow me to purchase health insurance, build savings, support my family and contribute to organizations I care about.
Minimum charge of $100 applied to all projects.

Communications Consultation
What projects do you have in mind? Please contact me to discuss your vision and goals. I am ready to support your brilliance and help you clarify your powerful messages!
If my skills are not a match for your needs, I will refer you to someone in my network who might be a better fit.
Project Workflow
Regardless of what we work on together, some variation on the following process will guide our work. Because each client and project is unique, we will adjust this workflow to meet your needs:
First, We Will Talk.
Discovery call, then project details. If you have a project in mind, I offer a free, short (15-minute) discovery call (video or phone).
Once you’ve decided you want a project proposal from me, we’ll discuss more via email, remote meeting, or phone. I’ll ask more about you, your vision and your goals for your project or request. You’ll share details (such as speech or presentation topic, genre and subgenre, word count (if a manuscript), your timeline, your budget, and hoped-for outcomes. Together, we will decide which of my offerings will best meet your needs.
Following our conversations, I’ll provide you with a project proposal including a price estimate and detailing the decisions we made together.
Then, we’ll Confirm Everything.
Once we have decided we are a good fit and established what we’ll work on together and how, I’ll provide you with a brief, simple work agreement to review and sign.
For most one-time projects, I request a deposit up to half the amount of the final cost to be paid before I begin work on your project. For consultations, I require payment in full prior to scheduling. I am also available to work on retainer or monthly payments for ongoing projects.
Next, I’ll get to work!
At this point you’ll provide me with any necessary content, prior publications, style guides, brand guidelines, manuscript or other documents, links, etc. and I’ll begin working on your projects. If our engagement is for a communications consultation, at this phase we would schedule our consultation date(s) and discuss outcomes for each session.
I am regularly available via email to answer any questions that come up.
Last, We will Finalize & Conclude your project.
Once I’ve done everything we agreed to and prepared your final files, documents, reports or recommendations, I’ll let you know and we can make an exchange.
I require final payment in full before I send you files or other finished projects.
