Ripples

I wrote this poem during the November 2023 QTWriters Support Circle. (The next Circle is coming up February 2024- Join me!)

Our ripples are touching

and they are creating waves upon waves.

Fierce rhythm.

deep heartbeats rippling consistent motion.

Let my heartbeat’s ripple be an offering

a life ring

a flotation device

not just for saving

not for subsisting

but for healing

yes, for thriving.

Your ripples are touching my heartbeat,

your touch steadies me.

Your presence moves me, drumming rhythm,

moves my bones moves my soul moves my feet.

Let my dance be an offering

a healing

a transforming

yes, a dance for endings

a dance for resisting

a dance for completing

a dance for creating.

Our heartbeats are touching, are rippling

out in synchrony, in sacred time,

are ripping the cords of clandestine alliance

and in the fresh ground of a new wave

our seeds are rolling, they are sprouting.

Our ripples are touching

and they are creating waves upon waves.
