Lists Existing Across Time
Just about anytime I decide to go through old notebooks, I find lists upon lists. They are lists of recommendations or that I’ve jotted down after learning about something: music to listen to, movies to watch, books to read.
Sometimes many years have elapsed between the list being made and me actually getting to reading/watching/listening to anything on the list. Which is kind of fun, actually…like the time in 2021 I did a silver anniversary review of Mr. Holland’s Opus- a movie that debuted in 1995, which I had never seen. Maybe I’ll release that essay sometime this year. ;)
Anyhow, I recently did a huge project where I tore apart 12 years of notebooks I kept during what seems like another lifetime. I thought it would be fun to share some lists of media that I was recommended during those years (2006-2017).
This is a very NON-EXHAUSTIVE list- it’s just a taste. I have many lists. Check back on this blog post for occasional, random, unnanounced updates to the lists!
As always, I love hearing from you. If you’ve consumed some of the media on this list and want to let me know what you thought of it, please be in touch. You can also recommend things to me that you love!
P.S.: the links below are, where possible, to the author’s or publisher’s website. They are not affiliate links, and I am not being compensated in any way for mentioning these books.
